Has anyone used one of those machines where you put your memory card in and print your own pictures ?

What is the quality like ?

My camera is only 3 mega-pixels so I'm a bit worried that the printed pictures might look a bit pixelated ?

3 megapixils will print brilliantly at 6x4 and print well at 7x5. I doubt you will be able to tell the difference from film.

Boots printing is also excellent quality. If you haven't printed from digital before, I'm sure you will be surprised.

I have used boots with my 3meg camera and it works great, but at 40p a time I'd rather use Asda I think they are only 15p a print.

I use an online printing service - it's very cheap and quick, just e-mail the pics and they send them straight away. They have been recommended by lots of photography magazines too.
You don't get the prints straight away like the machines in Boots, but don't have to go to Boots in first place!

I used one of these in Jessops in Leeds some time ago to get some copies of photographs off a CDROM.

The quality was excellent - I needed a bit of help in driving the thing (sad thing to admit to for a programmer) but then again I have problems with VCRs.

But I couldn't tell the difference between the output and 'normal' photos. The paper used was good, inks good. Generally a

I've got lots of pics that I've cropped on my PC. Will these machines stretch the pic to fit the paper or just print the pic with white bits at the sides???

It will stretch them, therefore becoming blurred, this is what happened to me when I copied a thumbnail picture rather than the original.

Think the smallest paper size is 6" x 4"

Pinted a couple of pictures in Boots, and they look realy good.
I'm a bit unsure about them trusting you to then go and pay for them though, the temptation to just scarper with my prints was quite strong.

I did pay though.
