Some people had too much to drink and decided to have a punch up. Not sure who was involved or what started it.

The police had blocked chesterfield rd off when my oh was on his way home from work, could hear loads of shouting at our house, just sounded like a drunken brawl that had got out of hand.

I just can't understand having a fight across the road from a Police station:confused:

Cuts down on travel time, very helpful. And when they are let out, they only have to cross the road for a pint.

It was a group of people who were drinking together all night, presumably a group of friends. They had too much and ended up fighting each other. The ambulance was called for one of them who was knocked unconscious in the fight.

load of nonsence ,the group of people were minding their own buisiness when 3 lads jumped on one of them for no reason and knocked him unconcious, those lads were arrested and as 3pm sunday were still in custody.

I've never been able to work out why there are so many k**bheads in the pubs of Woodseats, it's a relatively nice area. Where do they come from, what form of deprivation has caused them to be k**bs? Why is the Norton a more pleasant place to drink than the Big Tree?

Imnot saying where the k** heads all come from because il get people having ago once again but its pretty obvious they dont come from woodseats!!!!!!

Sum1 got mugged on woodseats rd the other day at 12.30 in the afternoon! Now im sorry but thats just not woodseats what so ever! People who live or who where born in woodseats are fantastic people! its just the muppets who come down to woodseats drinking or wat ever who cause all the trouble!

And the police take 30mins to respond to any 999 call from the pubs on woodseats even thought there on the same bloody road!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Totley? Bradway? Are they driven to violence by middle-class guilt and angst? Maybe a month living on Low Edges would make good lads out of them?

a lot of the trouble on woodseats is caused by the younger people who come down from lowedges, its well known they get ****** up in the big tree with cheap drinks and buying other stuff because they can get away with it.

the big tree used to be a decent pub but now it just needs shutting down, i think there was an article in the star not long ago that the police we're supposed to monitoring it

Lowedges and Meersbrook hate one anover, they meet up on Woodseats and a fight breaks out, its Meersbrook that cause all the trouble, the Lowedges lot are just ready for it, Woodseat has its very own bad crowd of people, you cant cover that up, anyway, im not going to bitch about estates......

.....but as sheffield/UK as a hole is getting worse, cheeky kids, gang fights and weapons.

Sadly not, Meersbrook are obviously dossers and dwads.

Hopefully the'll grow out of this gang nonsense but there 23 and upwards, very sad.

Personally I don't know about any Meersbrook - Lowedges rivalry, although it reminds me of Springfield-Shelbyville. Especially with 4ny1ne's Homer-like grasp of irony!

I do know that Woodseats has been a bad place to drink at for well over ten years. The Big Tree went rotten in the early nineties.

I will have words with my man on the scene. As far as he was concerned the fight was between people who had spent all or part of the night drinking together. That's how it looked to him anyway.

basically the men in question were minding their own business apparently and someone knocked in to someone else after they had a few drinks and the person didnt take too kindly to it. hence a couple of punches thrown etc etc etc. The men were not from Woodseats. (thats the ones who minding own business) I was out with them earlier in the night and they certainly were not out for trouble. Just enjoying a night with there partners and mates. As I said I wasn't there at time btu that's what I heard ????

Big tree apparently is turning into a food place again like brewburgers. (anyone remember that?) It's the only way they could get council to agree to letting them renew their licence as it is one of the most complained pubs in sheffield

Thats exactly what happened. We were all out as it was my parnters dads birthday so all the men and women were out in couples. I didn't actually go to Wetherspoons with them but my sister did. THEY WERE NOT FIGHTING EACH OTHER BY THE WAY.
