Can anybody remember the video game shop called Game Station. I was at the top of the Moor. It was the best looking shop I had seen. I bought so many import games from there.

Yeah I remember them. Wasn't at top of Moor though it was down near the bottom opposite Atkinsons.

Their trade in prices were miles better than GAME anyway.

No not that one, it was about 13 year ago. It was an import shop. It has the best looking shop ever. It was something out of a sonic game.

If you were in to video games you would have known it.

I remember it well, started out as 'Pleisure World' [sic] on Mappin Street then moved to near the Anvil Civic Cinema.
I worked in Just Micro at the time and used to wander over to spy on their prices. ;)

Did you work there? I recall one of the staff was a guy named Ash, the gaffer was called Sal I think.

Yeah i did work there, I remember Just Micro well. I used to hang around there all the time before Plesure World and Game Station. I have probably spoke loads to you. Did u work there with a guy called Andy who went on to work in Microbyte in Meadowhall?

So u still into games?

I did work there with a guy called Andy, doubt it's the same one though as Microbyte was gone by then I think - I was working at JM on and off from 1991 until the place closed. It's really sad that Just Micro, Game Station, Microbyte, Gemsoft (when it was on Division Street) have been put out of business by 'Superstores' and replaced with generic chains with clueless, passionless staff.
Just Micro was more a social experience than a shop!

I'm still a gamer, but more into the retro stuff (got a PC-Engine Duo again recently, well chuffed!) and I love OutRun2 C2C, but I'm perhaps a tad biased because I work at Sumo Digital. :)

What you up to these days?

Yeah it such a shame, all the shops now are rubbish and soulless. Staff know nothing and no imports to get excited about. The amount of hours I spent in just Micro.

Still love video games, don't really play them. Just collect which is a shame. My wii is still in the box from when I queued over night for it. Still have all my old stuff like Neo Geo, Super Famicom, PC engine etc. All boxed and stored away. I do play my XBOX 360 A little, Virtual Tennis 3 (think thats one of yours) is very good and loved out run 2. (any 360 version comming ?).

Moved to london about 8 years ago and work for the BBC now.
