A friend needs to get from Shirgreen to Barnsley, leaving in the next hour.

The roads around MeadowHall are shut as are a few others that she would use.

Do you know a way that she could go that is open?

up through chapletown through hoyland over roundabouts to birdwell follow signs to town centre

If chapletown is flooded as I have heard, going on Halifax Road through Grenoside might be a better option

THey could go towards Thorpe Hesley and get on the motorway there or there is always the option og going through Stocksbridge and into Barnsley that way.

go up burn cross rd, turn right to tankserly follow sign for m1, get on at j36

Or if motorway is still buisy,go streight across motorway and head for wosborough (left off 2nd roundabout)and follow to Barnsley town.
