Just had a thought (yes it did hurt).....if a new member cannot PM until they rach a certain post count does this mean they have to post a load of responses before they can reply to a rehoming thread?

View Full Version : How can new members reply to rehoming threads? sooz22 15-06-2007, 13:35 Just had a thought (yes it did hurt).....if a new member cannot PM until they rach a certain post count does this mean they have to post a load of responses before they can reply to a rehoming thread? Lindseyw 15-06-2007, 13:37 Well theoretically - the short answer is yes. sooz22 15-06-2007, 13:48 How many is it now? 15? At least it gives time for them to get established I suppose. Lindseyw 15-06-2007, 13:48 I'm not sure TBH. It's not ideal but it seems to be the only way to stop the sniping ! scoop 15-06-2007, 13:50 I'm not sure TBH. It's not ideal but it seems to be the only way to stop the sniping ! I thought it was six. baileys_mum 15-06-2007, 13:51 I thought it was five lol scoop 15-06-2007, 13:52 I thought it was five lol Any advance on five?:hihi: DaFoot 15-06-2007, 13:57 Any advance on five?:hihi: I 2nd the notion of being 5. :hihi: Lindseyw 15-06-2007, 13:59 If I was a betting girl I'd say 5 :) DaFoot 15-06-2007, 14:00 Rehome/sale threads get locked for PM only response, when an animal finds a new home, can the OP reply to the thread to say so? sooz22 15-06-2007, 14:02 not without it first being unlocked....it cant even be edited. Lindseyw 15-06-2007, 14:06 Nope but they can let us know & we can update the title, which is what we do now :) kittenta 15-06-2007, 14:20 Have any of the GLs got an email addy in their profiles? Maybe new members could email asking them to pass on their details to the animals owner? baileys_mum 15-06-2007, 14:29 I'm more than happy to add mine DaFoot 15-06-2007, 14:32 If you are going to put an email addy public - I would seriously consider creating one specifically for the task, as various spammer etc harvest addresses that are public and that addy would quickly get spammed to hell.... When the account gets loads of spam...get a new one! baileys_mum 15-06-2007, 14:33 Thank goodness for google mail :D Lotti 15-06-2007, 15:28 I thought it was five lol  So did I... It's a good point sooz. And yes, we usually get a pm letting us know, or, if I don't hear from them for a while, I pm to ask :D Shame it makes it awkward though... Lotti 15-06-2007, 15:51 Thanks for this sooz - we've now got an email: rehomingpets@yahoo.co.uk If you see your thread on Piper, my closing post has been edited :) Hope that suits! sooz22 16-06-2007, 23:18 I have added my own email....its public enough anyway that it dosnt matter if its available here :) Yahoo are pretty good at stopping spam it seems. |
