Timewarper 16-10-2007, 10:26 PM My brother started working for them towards the end of September. He's getting shafted left, right and centre for wages! Apparently they've recently told staff that if they started working there before the 24th, then they'll get paid this month. If it's after, they'll get paid at the start of November (this is after a salary cock-up at the beginning of this month that meant nobody got paid). He started on this date, so they're counting him in with the people that started after. At first he liked working there, was getting a few leads each day and plenty of praise, but he hates it now. Staff are being threatened with the sack if they get no leads, but what can you do when people hang up the phone on the other end and don't want what you're selling? He's said that they've threatened to sack everyone and get an entire new workforce. Oh, and they pay staff half into the bank and half by cheque (the portion by cheque is meant to be their commission). It sounds like a totally shonky setup to me, run by a bunch of bullies and con-merchants. I just wish my brother could get something closer to home. When they told staff about the supposed wages cock-up a few weeks back they wouldn't even let my brother go to the job centre to try and get a bridging loan to cover his bus passes. My mum's shelling out £16 a week that she can't afford and he can't even give her any board money because he has none for himself. I feel so sorry for him because he does try hard. To anyone looking at working for these cowboys I'd say don't bother. They sound like the kind of fly-by-night company that would do a Claims Direct on their staff sooner than pay them. :( |
