View Full Version : Someone has just fallen down a lift shaft in town kirky 02-12-2004, 08:27 on the site of the old exchange brewary building site......don't know if its serious but there's plenty of police about unners 02-12-2004, 08:29 Where abouts is that Kirky? kirky 02-12-2004, 08:30 lady's bridge..........my missis runs the cafe on there and she just rang me Phanerothyme 02-12-2004, 12:01 pruned and reopened for more news, and not personal slanging, please:D Lindseyw 02-12-2004, 12:05 Oooh Phan you big spoilsport !! kirky 02-12-2004, 12:12 Originally posted by Phanerothyme pruned and reopened for more news, and not personal slanging, please:D should have left it on mate..muppets gobbing off hidden behind a keyboard are quite amusing:D foo_fighter 02-12-2004, 12:50 Originally posted by Phanerothyme pruned and reopened for more news, and not personal slanging, please:D Bit heavy handed, no ? There was nothing really 'abusive' from either party involved, just a bit of 'banter'. Phanerothyme 03-12-2004, 07:40 well since no one could offer any actual information and the whole thing ended up as a string of one liners with no earthly interest beyond that of the participants, I'd disagree, no - it wasn't heavy handed at all. I would say I have a very light touch. Geoff will confirm this (although I think his preferred term for me would be lazy bar steward). BUt as for the thread - we are still none the wiser. Anything on the news sites about this? Anyone actually work on the exchange site that can tell us what, if anything happened? Agent Dan 03-12-2004, 08:02 Originally posted by kirky lady's bridge..........my missis runs the cafe on there and she just rang me Really? What's it called - I'm always round that part of town, might pop in for a cuppa! foo_fighter 03-12-2004, 08:35 Originally posted by Phanerothyme well since no one could offer any actual information and the whole thing ended up as a string of one liners with no earthly interest beyond that of the participants Sounds like most threads to me. In particular, how is it really much different to "I hate binmen", and that's certainly been going on long enough. So, sorry, but I still don't see what "harm" it was doing. As someone who's a veteran of a number of forums, although new to this one, I personally feel the best sites are those on which you notice moderators the least. NB, this is NOT an attempt to start a flame war, just my feelings on the subject. wibbles 03-12-2004, 08:58 Originally posted by foo_fighter Sounds like most threads to me. There seems to be an ongoing link between the type of threads that this occurs on. foo_fighter 03-12-2004, 09:45 Originally posted by wibbles There seems to be an ongoing link between the type of threads that this occurs on. Is it called "Kirky" ? ;) Tony 03-12-2004, 10:20 Mod: Can we go back on topic please? Litotes 03-12-2004, 13:00 Are the police looking into it? poppins 03-12-2004, 13:32 Originally posted by Phanerothyme pruned and reopened for more news, and not personal slanging, please:D I was personaly slanged a few times myself, but it didn't seem to bother you mods then, i put up with it, i enjoyed the members opinions, some made a lot of sense too. Agent Dan 03-12-2004, 14:37 The point is if the topic is entitled " I hate binmen " then it's fair play to have a slanging match about binmen. If the topic is a news item, then it's supposed to be telling people what happened. I have no idea what happened to the poor guy who fell down the lift shaft (lassie!) but that's what this thread is supposed to be for. If you have a problem with people bitching at you, then PM the mod. If you want to bitch at mods, just PM them, or start a topic entitle "bitching at mods" so you all STOP WHINGING! :loopy: kirky 03-12-2004, 14:47 Originally posted by Agent Dan Really? Oh, and Dan, get back on topic please. kirky 03-12-2004, 15:10 Originally posted by Agent Dan The point is if the topic is entitled " I hate binmen " then it's fair play to have a slanging match about binmen. Come on people, it's the seasons to be "jolly" (fra-la-lala-la)... stop bickering and only post when you have something constructive to say. Otherwise save your time (and my money) by doing something else ;) |
