I want to buy a Samsung E700 but i do not think they are compatible with my PAYG Vodaphone sim card.

Can anyone shine some light on this query?

PS. I tried my sim in a E700 and it would not let me dial out etc...?

The handset might of been locked to another network.
Are you buying one sim free?

The one i bought was unlocked to all networks and i got it off a mobile phone stall.
I took it straight back to him and he tried for about 20 mins to get it to work but in the end he had to give me my money back.

i know someone who had an e700 unlocked from o2 to orange and some of the content was missing from the phone afterwards, i have an e700 on o2 and it`s great. If it has been unlocked properly it should be ok but there are different ways of doing it and it seems some arn`t any good and wreck the phone

I have managed to get one for just £70 from a family member. It is only 5 months old and it is on a contract, connected to TMobile.

Will the phone be locked to the sim?

Where is a good place to get it unlocked?

How much should i be looking at to get it unlocked?

Any help will be greatly received :help: :?

Not sure exactly where you could get it unlocked but I wouldn't pay more than say £3 to be honest *hint check sig*

I have an E700 on Vodafone, but it is contract. I bought mine on line, but if you buy an E700 in a shop on Vodafone, you get what is actually called an E710 apparently, it's all silver instead of blue and silver, exclusive to Vodafone. That probably doesn't have anything to do with it, but yu never know!
Incidentally, I don't like mine much, have had trouble with infrared, doesn't have bluetooth, can take pics but can't use them in phone book etc... Mainly annoying little things, but my old sony-ericcson could do all these things.
Will be getting rid of mine in january when my contract is up!Especially as I got it almost a year ago and didn't pay anything for it then.
You can have mine, except I spilt water on it one night when I got home... in state i was in didnt realise and when I woke up it was a bit dead. Still works, except no-one can hear me!

Is this the one you are keeping till January?
I would be interested if only for the spares but i would prefer to have it fixed.
