Does anyone know when this opens or if it is open already. How much does it cost and is it suitable for a 3 year old? Many thanks

Opens on Friday according to the posters.

As for the appropriateness for a 3 year old, not scared of Clowns are they? Traditional Circus with Clowns and that you see.

Apparently they call the irrational fear of Clowns, "Bozophobia"

Its relocated has it from the football stadium up the road. No its not suitable for a 3 year old they will get nightmares watching that. The circus will be back at its normal home at Hillsborough in August. The clowns are the ones with blue and white shirts love

I have never been to a circus!

Do they have animals or is it all people on stilts and eating fire?

No there won't be animals, Sheffield council don't allow circus's to use them in the show, except horses

Don't think there is any ban on animals in the audience so you'll be OK :hihi:

Ha ha ha! Boom Boom!

The actual story behind the banning of live animal performers at Circuses dates back quite a few years, way back in the 90s or even as far back as the 80s iirc, some woman called Mary Chipperfield was convicted of cruelty to Circus animals, and the use of them has been banned ever since.

Does anyone have a phone number for the box office please? I gather all tickets are £5.00 tonight but don't know if you need to get them in advance or just turn up at the time of the performance. Anyone know?

Thanks

Animals are not yet banned in circuses as this report (http://www.blackpoolcitizen.co.uk/mostpopular.var.1389537.mostcommented.circus_defen ds_use_of_animals_in_show.php) shows. Mary Chipperfield was prosecuted in 1998 (http://www.circuswatchwa.org/chipperfield.htm).

The chimp she was convicted of mistreating, Trudy, now lives at Monkey World (http://www.monkeyworld.co.uk/topic.php?TopicID=49&Template=standard) in Dorset and features on TVs Monkey Business, a place well worth a visit instead of the circus, albeit a slightly longer drive.

I took my son when he was a toddler, sat in the front row, the moment it all started some clowns ran over and hosed me down, ended up with a screaming toddler on my knee, soaked in water.

needless to say we couldn't sit through the rest of the show soaking wet so we had to leave, won't be going back.
