Iv got a program called sony forge and to install it i have to download :

Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1

But when i try to download it i get a message saying :

It sounds like you haven't actually got the .NET framework installed.

Just check by going to your start menu, then Settings, then Control Panel.

When that displays select 'Add or Remove Programs' and look down the list. You should find something that says 'Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1'. If that's there then I'm not sure what the problem is. :(

If it ISN'T there then you need to download that before going any further.
