That's great, so eerie - sounds like something off an early Floyd album :D
Have you tried capturing it with 'audacity?'

This (http://www.spacesounds.com/home/index.html) site has a few more, I personally think the rings of Saturn sound fantastic.

This (http://www.spacesounds.com/navigator/index.html) link sends you to a better navigator.

 The option I get on right clicking is 'save target as' and that doesn't save the actual sound file

What's wget?

What's wget?

Basically it's a multi-protocol file grabber traditionally installed on *nix systems.

Ports now available for Windoze.

Full details here (http://www.gnu.org/software/wget/)

Got it!
Handy tip, that! Now all I need to do is loop it in audacity and I have continuous ambient Saturn sounds :D

Do you know where the 'Loop' option is in Audacity, sccsux? (or anyone)

I'm sure there is one but I can't find it.

It's probably under my nose

Hold down shift and the play key turns into a loop key. You can't save the file with the loop as this would produce an infinitely long file, I suppose the best thing would be a bit of cutting and pasting so the sound file lasts for much longer.

OK, if anyone likes it that much, I've edited it into a 29 minute seamless mp3 :D
You can download it here:
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~draggle/saturn/PIA07966%5b1%5d.zip
It's a large ish file (27 MB) and will take maybe 2 mins to download on broadband.

EDIT: If anyone wants it as a wav file, pm me an email address and I'll send a zipped copy.

Humph :(

:hihi:

Does it play OK Ghozer? I downloaded it on one machine (win 2000) and it wouldn't play.

Downloaded fine and played fine on the other machine (XP)

I have it as a wav file too if anyone wants that I'll send it zipped.

hehe, go for it, Did you copy/paste in a direct cut, or did you actually over-lap and evenly fade?? I think a 4 second overlap from the end <> start and a Frequency merge with a fade out/in at the same pace will give a better result.

Mmmm, don't know about all that, my first attempt.

Just did a copy and paste in a direct cut.

Might have a faff about further.

To my ears, the join just sounds like part of the Saturn sound :D

Don't mind if you want to have a go - I promise not sulk :D
