Well I have been in sunny Castleton all weekend and completed the first leg of my Instructors course for APDT.(Assoc of Pet Dog Trainers). We had an interesting time and met loads of fab dogs and owners. We had a session with a group of dogs and owners in which we had to assess the dog and owner together. There was a Field Spaniel, Labradoodle, Greyhound, Cocker Spaniel, German Shepherd and a Min Bull Terrier. A few of the dogs were from Sheffield, so hello if any of you are reading this and thanks for the input. ;)

The Greyhound was from Gap, a beautiful black boy of 10months called Jack. Dont know if you did the homecheck Anna?

The scenery was beautiful and peaceful, the dogs were adorable, my kind of weekend :hihi:

That sounds fantastic Gemima!

I don't suppose you could send me the info for it by pm? I'm hoping to do some courses soon but as yet don't have the finances!

This sounded really interesting- I've previously done a bit of animal /dog study by correspondence, including a course written and deliverd by Peter Neville who writes for the Cat and Dog magazines and I looked into taking the APDT but lack of funds put it on hold- keep us posted xK

It was really interesting I have PM'd you Lottie. The next leg of the course is in July, so I have got some homework to do until then. I am observing at Millhouse Dog Training next week for some research I met one of the trainers at Millhouse on the course. So if anyone has any other recommendations, I know I will have to bite the bullet and observe some negetive reinforcement training classes at some point for my research but I am not looking forward to that.

Wish me luck :help:
