View Full Version : What to get for Fathers Day?
Anyone got any gift ideas?
He's so hard to buy for, as he has everything.
I was thinking a shirt, not very original, but you can never have enough.
Any ideas?
Paolo Coopio 12-06-2007, 12:56 Im the same boat myself.
I might just go with the suggestion of "Dont get me anything next year"
Agent Orange 12-06-2007, 13:04 Instead of going along the materialistic theme, why not spend some precious time with him, take him out for the day and treat him to a meal or go to theatre or whatever :)
That will be better than any shirt etc and it will be a memory he can keep forever.

   i'm taking my for a good game of golf. far better than a crappy shirt, or aftershave
KATIEB_23 12-06-2007, 13:07 Ugh its really difficult isn't it?!
Especially as it was my Dad's 60th a few months ago, so I pretty much exhausted all my options then... personalised mug... vintage port... decanter... shirt...

Go on make me feel guilty... he lives 200 miles away, and I'm on a hen weekend this weekend! :(
So something postable would be good! ;)

That's cool. Hope you have a great day  Personally, I don't get along with my dad therefore the only present I can think of is, booking him into an old people's home :D

i never got on with my dad either until i moved out, he's retired now and getting old, so time with him is better than time without him

Were going to grandma's for dinner, so cant take him out for day.
He didn't even want to do anything if first place.
So i think a present is more ideal for him.

Yeah, surprise him one day with a belated visit. On the day, just send him a card and phone him to see how he's getting on.. jobs a good un!! :)

bubbly_bird8 12-06-2007, 13:58 I really don't know what to get my dad either, i suppose it will be the same as every year, a shirt, toblerone, aftershave and other rubbish little bits! I think i will have to take him out for a meal aswell if i dont spend all my money this weekend!
*Twinkle* 12-06-2007, 14:01 Daddy's away on Father's Day so when he comes back, he's got a selection of his favourite real ales, some money and a date set for me and him to go out for drinkies in his fave pubs in the countryside... with ME driving :D lol
As for a present... sticks thinking cap on

Because Grandma is on her own, and we don't leave her out, so she wants to cook for me and dad.
What do you get for your new father-in-law?

Erm, bit difficult as I don't him. Try getting him something that's related to something he likes to do etc. Does he have any hobbies?
