View Full Version : Sheffield Summer Fayre and Forum participants
Moon Maiden 06-08-2003, 10:11 Are you going to the Sheffield Fayre at Norfolk Heritage park in September?
And if you are would you be prepared to wear a T Shirt with your user name on the back and the sheffield forum logo or details of sheffield forum on the back??
*please excuse poll spelling I meant wear  [rpg- changed it for you :)]
cosywolf 06-08-2003, 10:21 Yes! Yes! Everyone answer yes - you're coming, and you'd wear the t-shirt...go on, you know you want to...
Make Geoff smile.
Heck, make ME smile:lol:
DaBouncer 06-08-2003, 10:25 I got the YES vote down!
cosywolf 06-08-2003, 15:57 A few ideas to hype the Forum at Sheffield Fayre:
Horticulture: we could plant a load of geraniums that spell out the Forum's name
Photography: one of our photography types on the forum could do a self-portrait: Picture of Artist on Sheffield Forum at 2am Eating Crisps
Cake: bake a cake in the shape of a computer with the name of the Forum, and a candle for each member
Computer art: a collage of all our user names and the most outrageous things we have said
Art: Macaroni sculpture of a computer, complete with staring Forum member and Forum logo on screen. Alternatively, use cutlery and include moving parts(Forum member typing on keyboard or throwing back head in laughter).
Children's art: get those kids working! A nice fingerpainting of Mummy or Daddy after being flamed on the Forum...or off at a tangent, what lands on the desk when they turn the keyboard upside down and give it a good shake
Best vegetable: Carve the Forum logo in your marrow while it is still young, and watch the letters grow with the marrow, just like Forum membership.

Before criticising someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you do criticise them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
     ROFLMFAO
cosywolf 06-08-2003, 16:06 Took you a while, DB:P
cosywolf 07-08-2003, 09:28 Anyone get the idea that I'm not going to let this one go?
Who could make these t-shirts, anyway? I wouldn't know where to start looking. Anyone out there own a t printing company?8)
DaBouncer 07-08-2003, 09:32 If someone (i.e. a rep for Sheffield Forum) wanted to go to a T-shirt printing co and request a discount for Sheffield forum members in exchange for a fair few t's then that would be a start.
First we need to find out how many would be needed and then approach the t-co'!
Because we are all having the same design, except for the User Names then it wont be difficult for the company, just we need someone to blag it for us!
cosywolf 11-08-2003, 09:07 Just to pop this back up to the forefront of people's minds after a long w/e without the Forum...
Anybody suddenly got the inclination to sort this one out?
Classic Rock 11-08-2003, 11:11 I use Select Embroidery over in Rotherham. They produce T shirts, good quality ones for about £4.50 each with logos on them. You have to pay them a tenner to get the logo set up on their system and then they produce them in small or large quantities after that. It takes then 1 - 2 weeks to produce the order.
Moon Maiden 11-08-2003, 14:48 I got my daughter's name printed on a T Shirt for £3.99 in skeggy!!
I set up poll so we could see if anyone would be coming and could help.
So far not too bad - but better numbers would be nice
Moon
When is it and what day of the week? us non-residents might have to travel a bit further to come but it is not out of the question
x
cosywolf 11-08-2003, 16:29 13th - 14th September, Norfolk Heritage Park. 10.30 - 5pm both days.
You know you want to come:lol:
Well I wont rule it out at this stage *G*
hullmackem 11-08-2003, 17:07 I'll do it if I can put a bag on my head. Not a plastic one though as that would be very stupid and i'd probably kill myself. :o
How about printing your own avatar on a T-Shirt?
I've got a feeling one such person is going to flush that idea down the toilet.
DaBouncer 11-08-2003, 19:29 Nice try, just changed it :P
Lindseyw 11-08-2003, 19:52 try a company called ASM at Ecclesall - speak to ALex and tell him I told you to call - he should do you a really good deal on T-Shirts
kittykat 11-08-2003, 23:14 Great. Id look a right prat with KITTYKAT written across my back in big letters
cosywolf 12-08-2003, 09:04 Thanks, Lindseyw.
Anyone able to pick this up and get it moving?
I'm helping organise the Fayre itself, so am going to hope someone else has the spare time to sort this one. 8)
I reckon you have a point, Kittykat, some of us could look very amusing with our usernames emblazoned across shirts for all to see and wonder at...but hey, it's a giggle, right.
Moon Maiden 12-08-2003, 09:08 Well - if they see a funny looking name they are more likely to stop and ask you what the hell that says on the back of your T shirt or wait for you to turn round to see what is on the front.
fortunately people appear to be nosey like that - and we want their interest!!
I can contact the company but I need numbers folks.
Any ideas when Geoff is back?
Moon
cosywolf 12-08-2003, 09:28 Geoff made an appearance on Sunday, didn't he? I'll pm him in the hope he picks up his messages. If you can pm lindseyw, maybe we can actually get this done.
Guess I'll have to wear yet another badge - a mini logo and username.
DaBouncer 12-08-2003, 11:07 What about payment though? Who's going to stump up? Can you trust who will pay and who wont? The very reason why I haven't bothered to volunteer. I've been done like this before when organising summat like it!
cosywolf 12-08-2003, 11:14 It's a problem. Maybe Geoff would like to buy some to sellat the event, that just have the logo on them (and the Sheffield Fayre logo:P ), and not the usernames, so that they are generic and attractive to a wider audience?
I'm sure no-one here is too shy to bound up to other people wearing a Forum shirt and demand to know 'who' they are.
DB - bring back the various pictures of lovely men on your avatar. 'Hard as Nails' indeed

It took me ages doing that in Flash! Never used it before so it's my first time!
Should I change it then?
cosywolf 12-08-2003, 11:24 Nah, it made me grin.
Not that you're not hard as nails, sweetie:lol:
(I'm just jealous that people can do such things ;) )
DaBouncer 12-08-2003, 18:23 Yeh ur right, not hard as nails at all, but I like the AVATAR for at least a couple of days!
Okay, youv'e talked me into it.
There are some great ideas in here - thanks to everyone who has contributed so far to this thread. I've sent out a couple of emails today to different users and organisations - so we should be able to arrange something between us. More than likely, it will revolve around me standing giving out SheffieldForum flyers - so if anyone wants to volunteer and help me then let me know!

cosywolf 08-09-2003, 09:07 It's big...it's fun...it's this weekend.
The Sheffield Fayre is nearly here!
I expect to see you all there, having fun and supporting this large free entry event. And of course supporting the Forum.
