View Full Version : So... Did Anyone Knit In Public, Then, Today?
Plain Talker 09-06-2007, 17:16 today was "knit in public day"...
sadly I couldn't find anything going on today, and we seemed to go a bit quiet when the idea of a special meet was put forward.
I went to l**ds on the train, and I got my knitting out, and did quite a few rows of my WIP , both legs of the journey, to l**ds and back.
So I sort-of "Knitted in public", even if it wan't a get-together! lol
Glitter Star 09-06-2007, 17:37 I knitted in a café, waiting for my food with a friend who was also knitting in public. The waitress was very intrigued.
knitbird 09-06-2007, 18:00 Yep, but I knit everywhere anyway, really didn't make any difference to my day. ;)
I would have been crocheting in public if I hadn't sprained one of my wrist and thumb joints- sorry it was a no go from me.
Al Bethere 09-06-2007, 19:31 I didn't knit in public as I was on a Retro Apron making course all day.
I did. I added a few rows to the second Bayerische sock under the shade of a horse chestnut tree. Not many people around though, so I suppose it'd be classed as semi-public knitting.
Madam_Bo 09-06-2007, 23:31 I completely forgot. But I did knit for a couple of hours on trains yesterday (actually I knit on the way there and tinked on the way back, which is sort of apt).
No knitting in public from me. Didn't fancy doing it at dog training (excited dogs and a ball of yarn shouldn't to together). And for the rest of the day I was drunk :)
If knitting in the Stocksbridge library counts as knitting in public, then I/we did with the Knit & Chat group.
Hmmm, I sat in my garden for a bit with the WIP (that I'd had to rip out a couple of inches the day before  ) but nowhere that people could really see.
I feel ashamed of myself now!!
I've been having serious guilt complexes about things I really ought to be doing though, is that a good excuse? :)
Well I knitted on a ferris wheel yesterday night at a fair in Basel - do I win the bestest place prize?!
No, forgot all about it and was away for the weekend without knitting. Although to be honest it hasn't been picked up since before my exams :-S

Now you are just showing off:D
Plain Talker 12-06-2007, 08:26 Got to say, that has to be the most "exotic" place so far!

You just have a thing about wheels.

Damn right!
And yes, I do seem to enjoy round spinning things a bit too much for it to be healthy.
