The Caper Club
(upstairs at Takapuna)

Wednesday 4th July
The Bumcrack Special
starring...

DUNCAN OAKLEY
www.duncanoakley.com

Duncan Oakley is known for being very naughty and really quite rude, at least on stage; but this cheerfully childish behaviour belies his credentials as a seasoned professional show off. Plus he's older than he looks: Duncan has been a musician, composer and performer for twenty years, the last five of which as a full time stand up. His work has brought him considerable acclaim, with UK radio and television appearances as well as countless stage performances around Europe; winning over audiences wherever a healthy blast of rock idiocy needs to be administered.

This man is a friend of this comedy club and was the very first headline act when we first started all the way back in December 2003. This show will be a Edinburgh Festival preview show and will be very, very good. And funny. And stuff. Lots of booze. No fags, though. Unless you go outside. Madness.

i saw duncan oakley at takapunas new menu launch recently, although it must have been the hardest crowd the guy has ever played too as everyone was noisy and lashed on the free beers what i heard of him was very funny, and his songs with his guitar were very amusing too!!!

If this show is half as good as the last one, I'll only wet myself several times. Ivan Brackenbury was totally amazing. You've got to get him back!

Mr Oakley has always been brilliant when I've seen him, even that noisy lot at Craig's birthday soon shut up and listened. That night was ace by the way

It'll be the same start and finish times as before - 8.45pm start with doors opening at 8pm so you can get some booze in before it kicks off. It'll finish at about 11pm though the bar will stay open for an hour or so after.

Just wanted to point out that tonights Caper Club is still happening. Just got home to find that outlook has returned 452 emails that should've gone out to relevant database members. Text messages went out ok i think, but if you normally receive an email and you didn't, please accept my apologies. I hope to see you all at Takapuna in a couple of hours or so.

ciao 4 now

Ps support includes locals Sarah Pearce and Gareth Hughes (of band Paraguay Mackenzie) + another circuit regular that isn't Pat Gallagher who recently pulled out citing inability to understand corelation of the Gregorian calendar and a diary.
