I'm wanting to book somewhere really fancy for myself & my girlfriend in a couple week as a suprise for her.

Not really fussed what type of food. I really just want to push the boat out as it a pretty special occation.

I think you should try Sanctuary. Bloody good food and VERY reasonably priced. Apparently as they have table cloths it's fine dining(!?), but i think it's just good food presented well. 3 courses each + bottle of wine with meal + drink on arrival will be just under £50.

If you can wait til 4th July, take her to Takapuna for some grub, booze and comedy. It'll be special cos it's my gfs birthday, too!

If you want fine dining try the Milestone at Kelham Island. Great meals
