View Full Version : Anyone know of a good place for breakfast?
mcgarry 04-06-2007, 10:51 PM Hi there , just wondering if anyone could recommend me a good place for breakfast in Sheffield?
We normally go to Millhouses park cafe , which is great but my girl friends getting pretty bored and i can't blame her.
Thanks
Jeerumba 05-06-2007, 10:07 AM Good question McGarry! We tried CafeRouge in the Peace Gardens one Sunday morning - not bad I suppose, but it would be great to hear about other places. Especially if they do veggie fry-ups...
SarahD 05-06-2007, 10:09 AM The Interval cafe does veggie fry ups and it's great value for money.
Ousetunes 05-06-2007, 10:22 AM There's a cafe on the end of South Road, Walkley.
A Sunday morning hangover which requires a huge breakfast (decent proportions and which actually tastes like a greasy breakfast should) and at a decent price. It can get busy but that's a good thing, surely?
You can park outside, there's usually a pile of Sunday newspapers and there's a great choice of different breakfasts.
What more do you want, eh?
Jeerumba 05-06-2007, 10:27 AM Thanks both. Where is the Interval please?
samstar999 05-06-2007, 12:56 PM I like Millhouses caff too - but it does get boring and actually it is not really 'hangover friendy' due to the large number of children! They are of course allowed to be there as it is a park with a mini boating lake but they get very noisy! Also, you can't linger as it is soooo busy.
So, I'd like more ideas too ... is there anywhere in town other than Cafe Rouge?
Does the Leadmill still do the Jazz lunchtime thing?

i'll second that - had many a good brekkie from that place
willows 05-06-2007, 03:56 PM Taste on Eccie road is one of my favs, but you need to get there early to get seats for you and your family!
samstar999 05-06-2007, 04:21 PM OOh, yes, I'd second that. They do lush food (closed for refurb at the mo). And I agree - you have to get there early to be in with any chance of a table for more than 2.
Dizzyblonde 06-06-2007, 12:36 AM I particulary like Brunch, its what the working week lacks and the weekend is for. The Breakfast deal that ends at 11.30 is irritating. TJ Hughes do a good pre 11.30 breakfast but I've not always worked up the appetite for a seven item deal by then. Discovered the Abbey Cafe, near the Mother of God Catholic Church on Abbeydale Road. The standard at £2.40 including coffee was very acceptable, and a large for just over £3 also did a veggie and a list of stuff on toast. They dont allow smoking in the cafe which is a real plus. Seashells in Woodseats is good but breakfast should be smoke free IMHO.
I think Wetherspoons - Woodseats Palace do a brekkie but again stale beer and fags should not be around with my brunch.
Bunts 08-06-2007, 10:27 PM Pollards Charles Street (City Centre) Mon-Sat. Good 5 item with pot of tea/Coffee £3.25 (b4 11am). Proper tea too, you can select any from the dozens they have.
punctualP 10-06-2007, 03:48 PM I can recommend where NOT to go for a breakfast.
The other day, I had one in Cafe Nova on Surrey Street (what used to be Tuckwoods). It cost £4.25 and was rubbish.
chriswvtr 10-06-2007, 03:57 PM Food fusions (http://foodfusions.thebigmenu.co.uk/) is nice, not too expensive too
