I need your help...
I'm running a stag do in Sheffield next weekend and need to know where to begin, continue and end the drinking.
So, where should we start on Friday evening?
Need stag-friendly places who don't mind 15 drunk 30-year-old blokes.
Is there a late bar which isn't too young?
looking for cheesy 80s music venues....
help...
I think the place you are looking for is called West Street.

Do the bars stay open late there? any places to avoid?

I would usually advise avoiding West Street because it's the kind of place where you would encounter a group of 15 drunk 30-year-old blokes.
All the bars on West Street are equally crap.

No west street is probably your best bet to be fair, they're just being grumpy :hihi: You'll enjoying each others company too much to be worried about much else, enjoy your night :hihi:

is there a decent cheesy nightclub to end up in (on friday)
and where does the best fry-up for the mornings? Near the Ibis hotel?

West st is fine. If I were you i'd start up at the top at Varsity/S1, make your way down calling at Cavendish, Muse (loads more, just keep working your way down). When you get to the end there's a bar called Reflex which does 80's cheesy stuff. Not sure what time that closes, so if it's normal hours and you want a club, there's always Flares (just round the corner from Walkabout - still on West St/Cavendish St) this is your run of the mill cheesy 70's/80's club.
Another option is to go to Embrace (old Kingdom) which is a much bigger night club, but is full of chavs, and you might not get in with being a stag night. Another clubbing option is Hot Pants at the city hall - if you call in advance you might even get discounted tickets. This could be your best bet, as it's got a few rooms, so you get 70's/80's/90's music and it's always packed.
Hope you have a great time in Sheffield!
Just found a link for hotpants info: http://www.sheffieldunleashed.co.uk/events.asp?EVENTS=43
oops just read your post again - hotpants is only on a saturday. Stick to Flares on Friday night.

My suggestion is similar. Start on Division Street at Lloyds No1 then circular route up Division Street and down West Street via Yates, Frog & Parrot, S1, Cavendish, Bedroom, Walkabout, Reflex, Westways, Flares and possibly into Embrace nightclub.
For breakfast next morning I suggest Sarnis on High Street or Tiffanys at Castle Square.

ps Reflex is the 80s theme bar which opens late and Flares is the 70s theme bar again open late. Both should be familiar as every city has one!
