View Full Version : What would YOU like to see on telly? pinlock 27-11-2004, 17:48 Personally, i would like to see another reality show. I like Sf too but I'd rather see a stretched out something, Buffy was cool, Witchbalde was good till the telly ppl started messing about. Wanted was good too - anyone remember that? I really wanted to have go. wibbles 27-11-2004, 18:07 Female Trampoleening in the rain. Mandatory uniform white vest top and large hooters. Now thats worth paying a license fee for. nuf_said 27-11-2004, 21:56 Agree with wibbles and pinlock. "I'm a celebrity and haven't been on the telly for a while meets the Sheffield chavs on tour", followed by the "Dolly Parton Trampoline Show". How about Formula 1 in a less boring version - like if all the odd numbers had to go round the track in the opposite direction. How to do up your house and then sell it - oh it's been done. How to buy or sell things at auctions - oh it's been done. How about 'The News' with only happy items and good things - nah....... Edd 27-11-2004, 23:12 Its all utter rubbish, bring back the test card! Oh...and some pages from ceefax:thumbsup: Snook 27-11-2004, 23:13 I will only watch the 5 regular channels when they start putting sitcoms on in prime time instead of crap soaps... American sitcoms though, no British s**t. I wana see Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, Friends, The Simpsons etc while eating my dinner or relaxing at night. Please ban soaps and reality shows.... please! muddycoffee 27-11-2004, 23:20 The only thing which would make me get another TV would be if Chris Evans, Chris Moyles, Steve Right, Johnathan Toss and that Whiny B'stard Mark Kermode were butchered live with a chainsaw  little malc 28-11-2004, 08:51 U K history channel without every third programme being about soddin Hitler!! JoeP 28-11-2004, 10:10 More scripted drama. More adventurous programming - what about a return to something like 'Play for Today' which could potentially give 50 playrights / script writers a year the chance to get their stuff on TV AND possibly launch a new series? Less reality TV. Less drama / 'comedy' based purely on 'shock value'. Joe igm1 28-11-2004, 10:28 Less Big Brother and I'm a Celebrity..... The IQ of our country is falling! I can fully appreciate it may not be everybodies cup of tea but at least in this the celebrities are having to work extremely hard and are hopefully aquiring a new skill. Most of the other programs you have listed though create these clone like one minute wonders who think they are celebrities for the nano second there a household name [well some households] Strix 28-11-2004, 22:06 Originally posted by little malc U K history channel without every third programme being about soddin Hitler!! We need to get the TV execs in the US to pull their fingers from their collective arses and appreciate intelligent science fiction. Both the Firefly and Farscape universes have potential to be as rich as the B5 and Star trek ones, and certainly have the potential to have 'grown up' stories - particularly Firefly. That bald bad guy in Firefly scared the crap out of me.... I get very annoyed with various series that I enjoy - Dark Skies, Farscape, Firefly, for example - failing to meet the viewing criteria of US TV viewers with an MTV attention span, and then getting ditched for some crap just re-hashes existing successes. Grump. Joe Hippy 29-11-2004, 11:15 More natural history.... There are hundreds of great wildlife on one programmes and they never seem to repeat them. They could stick a few more on BBC3 and BBC4. Now WALLBUILDER, you know that's fighting talk! Everyone knows Tom Baker was by far and away the best Doctor - you're talking heresy here! Mr Baker is the DEFINITIVE Doctor, with most of the best episodes - "The Pyramids of Mars", "The Talons of Weng Chiang", "The Armageddon Factor" etc. And Peter Davison is my second fave Doctor (ducks quickly - that zimmerframe came close!). Fantastic storylines and great sets - several of the best Dr Who stories were PD ones. "Castrovalva" is an absolute gem - ok, Adric was the worst assistant ever (apart from the truly awful Peri), but you can't have everything! I'm sounding very sad, aren't I? :suspect: StarSparkle :D muddycoffee 01-12-2004, 17:34 I would like to see fred Dibnah's steam engine on top of it. so it is crushed, shattered and broken. Tom Baker was okay but with the poor writing and the lack of money being spent on the programs he didn't stand a chance. I still cringe when thinking of those terrible special effects with the giant robot. Peter davidson....Hmmmmm, let me guess you thought he was 'dishy' and fancied him, sorry but there can't be any other reasons for liking him. No, cheeky, I'm sad because I'm discussing Dr Who online - I think that officially makes me some sort of geek! Oh what the heck, might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb and all that .... John Pertwee was a good Doctor, and Jo Grant and Sarah Jane were the best assistants, but some of the stories were pretty boring. I prefer far away and exotic planets ..... Speaking from experience I know that most girls aren't as dopy as those two were.
