Does anyone know how to get a 10 yr old absolute beginner into a cricket team for coaching? My son is besotted with cricket and I fear for my windows as he 'practices' in our back garden. Where's the best place to start?

What area of Sheffield are you from? You don't want to be travelling across the city to find somewhere for your son to play. Or do you?

Sheffield collegiate cricket club run Micheal Vaughn's Cricket academy on a Friday eve at Abbeydale sports club on abbey dale road south. May be quite far but it is very sociable many parents gather watch their children, have a drink and there is a BBQ. It starts at 6.30pm and costs around £4.00. Finishes about 8.30pm so you could always nip to Tesco and do a bit of shopping as well. They also have a web site if you wanted to check the cricket club out. Well worth going up and giving it a go.

This might be a good call. Deputy head at Tapton, Richard Storer, is involved with Hallam CC - up the road at Sandygate - and this may lead to further opportunities.

Send him a Personal Message via this board, to tell him what you need.

Isn't Thorncliffe near Chapletown? Shiregreen used to have a youth team, that wouldn't be too far away.
