After all the trouble I had leaving Fitness First Halifax Road, I am now somehow being targeted by their advertising!

The text message last week wasn't too bad, I just deleted it. But getting disturbed from my exam revision by their automated land line phone call on Sunday afternoon was really annoying.

You would of thought they would of deleted my details when I left, not chasing me up to re-join!

Another letter to send now, for Fitness First remove my details.

We put our name down a couple of years ago on BT to stop getting sales calls, I thought companies had to check first if your name was on this register?

I didn't get a call but got lots of text messages - re-join now for this price, don't miss out etc etc (I was a member for about 3 days before I saw sense and left).

Virgin Inactive are notorious for this practice - I once got a message saying that 'you are fit but not enough, join Virgin (in)Active'.

These companies don't get the message that this is one of the most annoying forms of advertising!

I have had real problems with fitness first in Sheffield. upon cancelling my membership, the incompetent receptionist that I passed my letter to was unable to pass it to the right department i.e. lossing it and causing me the hassle of dealing with all the stupid people on their call centre.
Possibly some of the most stupid and incompetent people that I have dealt with. Honestly, avoid Fitness first at all costs, it really is terrible when it comes to customer service. Besides the gym is pretty crap too, you would be better with esporta, virgin active or greens!

What is crap about that gym i go there and dont find it crap.

I used to go to FF on Archer Road. The staff behind the desk did the best they possibly could to ignore you- they'd swipe your membership card without even acknowledging you, no eye contact, no 'hello', no nowt. I thought it was just me at first (being the paranoid type!) but no, they did it to everyone (i could see from the leg-raises machine - told you i was paranoid!)

I am a member and the difference between them and Esporta is amazing.

They should send there staff over to esporta for training.
