No he didn't as he thought it was quite old fashioned but think my dad would have liked him to have done. I guess it all depends on the dad and what his views are about other things. Dad was so happy when I told him I was getting married I think he forgot all about that bit of it!!

my other half greg asked my mum as i havnt lived with my dad for about 25 years i think its nice and makes it more special:)

No. We didnt. We told me dad that my partner had asked me and that was it. My dad isnt the old fashioned type though so dont think he thought about it! :)

My first husband did and Dad was rather pleased with it. Mark 2 just announced to me that we would marry and the date it would happen. I think asking my father never remotely entered his head. The proposed Mark 3 has yet to meet my parents so we will see what happens!

My hubby asked my Dad, but by phone as we lived at the other end of the country!!!!

I think it's important - but then I'm v traditional and v close to my Dad! and I know it meant a lot to him (he's a very proud man!).

Depends on circumstances really.
