Fooman 30-05-2007, 02:51 PM No he didn't as he thought it was quite old fashioned but think my dad would have liked him to have done. I guess it all depends on the dad and what his views are about other things. Dad was so happy when I told him I was getting married I think he forgot all about that bit of it!! We told me dad that my partner had asked me and that was it. My dad isnt the old fashioned type though so dont think he thought about it! :) parcher 25-06-2007, 08:33 AM My first husband did and Dad was rather pleased with it. Mark 2 just announced to me that we would marry and the date it would happen. I think asking my father never remotely entered his head. The proposed Mark 3 has yet to meet my parents so we will see what happens! Lucy_Green 01-07-2007, 07:41 PM My hubby asked my Dad, but by phone as we lived at the other end of the country!!!! I think it's important - but then I'm v traditional and v close to my Dad! and I know it meant a lot to him (he's a very proud man!). Depends on circumstances really. |
