It is a great film - I alwys love the bit where the Maddona on the 'dashboard' of the aircraft puts her hands over her eyes as the plane lands. :)

Jabberwocky reports that his 4 year old has , " taken control of the telly ".

This is disgraceful. One can understand a 6 year old, yes, but a 4 year old should be just about controllable.

If you wish to have unalloyed viewing of your telly, without obnoxious small creatures wanting to watch some tripe or other, please follow the rules below : -

Organise a game of ' Hide & Seek '. Most 4 year olds will eventually hide in a cupboard . When they do, lock the cupboard quickly . I did this years ago and, despite the desperate screaming and crying about the dark and spiders, I continued to watch ' Crossroads ' with a smirk on my fat face.

A stun gun or a large club comes in very handy when dealing with particularly " hard case " 4 year olds. A quick zap with the gun or a smart crack across the head should put paid to all whining, emotional blackmail and sobbing, pathetic pleas.

Only with these measures will Jabberwocky and other parents regain full control.

The four year old, is female. Im powerless!
I tried a game of hide and seek but she and her mother went to Spain for a couple of weeks while I starved in the wardrobe.
The stun gun and club..?

I wore out the battery on the gun and wore the club out on my... erm...

As for a smart crack across the head.. Im frankly disgusted! Disgusted that you could suggest a crack!

Its a scutch! A SCUTCH across the head! What happened to Sheffieldisms?!?

I love Airplane but I think the Police Squad series is funnier

Wasn't the boy caled "Joey"?

One of the amusing things about the film was the frequent lampooning of other films. Saturday Night Fever, Jaws, Knut Rockne - All American, From Here to Eternity...

Did YOU know that Charles Dickens wrote "A Tale of Two Cities"?

Airplane, The Naked Gun, Police Squad... all classics...

Roger Murdock: We have clearance, Clarence.
Captain Oveur: Roger, Roger. What's our vector, Victor?

Oh yes. I now have that on DVD having been looking out for it for years. The scene in the first episode where he is having a shootout with the blonde woman, and then the camera zooms out and you see that they are actually about 3-feet away from each other, is still one of the funniest things ever shown on TV.
