Hello

The room that I was supposed to be renting from the first of July has unfortunately fallen through and so I need to find somewhere else quite urgently!
I am a PhD student (female,27) and I'd like to find either a room with one or two friendly people or a one bedroom flat that doesn't cost the earth! I don't smoke but I do have a few goldfish. They are very sweet though.

I would ideally like something in the Crookes/ Walkley/ Crooksmoor/ Broomhill area because I'd like to be able to get to my department easily, which is at the corner of Northumberland Road and Western Bank. I'm currently down at Hunter's Bar and it's a bit further than I'd like..

Anyway, if you could help at all pleeeeease get in touch! I don't want to be homeless!

thanks

Helen

Hi Helen,
I have a studio apartment within my house, which is semi-self contained, has own kitchen and is very spacious, quiet and fully equipped. It's half way between a flat and a house-share - it takes up the whole of the first floor of an extension within my house.
It is in Crookes, just a few minutes walk from union building and handy for both 95 and 52 bus routes.
The studio is very unusual, so if you're interested, it would be best to have a discussion to see if we might suit each other. Offered to female student only.
Rent is £80 a wqeek including all fuel and some services.
If you'd like to learn more, get in touch.
Anne

Hi Helen

We have a house up the road from your department with room available. It's off Crookesmoor Road, on Moorgate Avenue, no.8. It's a house for 4, 2 rooms are vacant, one in the basement, one on the first floor - £220 and £235 respectively. The house is on a quiet cul-de-sac at the Beanies and post office end of the Crookesmoor Road, with a garden front and back. Communal large square kitchen diner at the back of the house and similarly spacious lounge with good views across the city at the front. Sharing with another post-grad (Brad) and Mike who is a researcher at the university. If you want to ring Mike to arrange a visit his mobile no. is 07932 198769, the house no. is 2680156. Our no. is 2726669 - the landlords: Katy and Tom. Give us a call if you want to know any more, or want to take up a room having visited. Good luck,
