I was just wondering if you needed permission/ had to pay the council to take wedding/graduation photos in Peace or Winter Gardens?

Its a front runner for the ceremony although I'm still not entirely clear on where the guests go - was it as cramped as it looks?

We got married in the glass house, near the fountain and had about 70 guests. Pleanty of room for small weddings. Photos were mainly taken it the gardens which as it was June were lovely!

70 guests in the central pavillion? crikey - did they move some of the plants out?

We're pretty settled on this venue now, have told the guests they'll need brollies (and need to find some red wellies just in case).

The pictures will be great, I would like one Interview With a Vampire style in the Bear Pit.

No plants were moved - there is loads of room its very deceptive! Guests were near the double doors and the sides, there are a few benches already in so these were handy for younger/older guests. The main party is by the fountain just unter the wall plack about Prince Charles. We didn't opt for any extra chairs so we didn't loose any space. Have you booked yet? We booked in December 2005 and were told there was a 2 year waiting list, however we were told if we wrote in he would see what he could do. We ended up with Saturday June 24th 2006 - so don't be put off if you are told its full - just write a nice begging letter saying how its the perfect place for you etc!
Good luck,
Sarah x

Quite the opposit, we understand there haven't been many bookings yet (I bet I've just inspired tonnes of people to go for it now- there goes the wedding date :( )

They do just one a day so get in fast! It was a lovely place to get married and it makes the gardens very special to us now. Worth the extra money as its far nicer than the registry office and you get all the flowers for free!
