has anyone ever had a wedding dress made up from a pattern? if so, did it work out expensive, or difficult to find someone who could do it? i've found my perfect wedding dress but its just the pattern, not sure whether to have it made up or compromise and try to find something else

Because I'm worried that I'll get my heart set on it, then find out it will cost hundreds to have one made which I simply cant afford :-( I'll have to keep looking on ebay!

Hi, I i run a sewing supplies business, and don't as a rule make clothes for other people. I do pattern cut, and have made loads of fully boned corsets, so I am used to fitted bodices. However, i have been wanting to make up a full wedding dress (but never had good reason!) for a while, so if the pattern is interesting enough, and the timescale adequate I may be interested in doing this for you at a reasonable price. please email me on sewingchest@aol.com as i don't always have time to visit forums, and send me the details (name & number) of the pattern you want to use, as well as likely fabric choice.
