Went to see the Who last night on a freebie, got to admit never been in my top 10 bands.

The old stuff was OK, but their new stuff is absolute rubbish (including the 6 song mini-opera yaaaawwwwwwn).

Lighting and the back screens were really stunning, which made up for some of the self-obsessed nonsense:hihi:

The new material is not as strong but I thought it worth a listen. Thought the band were on top form. Really interesting to hear more material from the Quadrophenia era...thought they played these songs with a good deal more energy:)

Liked the acoustic songs and I think old Pete and Rog should take to the road and play just an acoustic set...would be very interesting

I did not go to the gig but find the Arena the most soulless venue I have ever been in and even the best live performance would be dragged down being played in such a place.

Agree about the venue being crap, but the music was awesome. Rock at its finest, LOUD and raw. The Quadraphenia and Tommy sets were magic, Pinball Wizard superb. No complaints. 40 years on and still rocking.:cool:
