Drove past the Moor earlier, seemed to be a lot of people milling around, and what looked like a funfair and/or a market. Very Christmassy. Unfortunatly when we got down they were all packing away, is this going to happen again, when, does anyone know?

It was the City Lights ..... switching on of the christmas lights to you and me!! There was stuff going on from Fargate to the Moor. There were reindeer and fire jugglers on the moor as well as a snow (bubble) machine. Went with the kids and we all really enjoyed it apart from one very dodgy band who played on the Hallam FM stage. They were a bunch of middle aged men with fiddles and guitars who bored everyone to tears!! Very strange choice of entertainment if you ask me!! Apart from that, It was a good afternoon out!

Pity we missed it. Kids would have loved all the lights and stuff being 6mths and 2yrs. Glad you had a good time.
That helps explain a little more of the insanity I faced today then. I had just popped out for a few bits from Argos and met a complete tidal wave of people.
It's begun already, the monstrous pushing and shoving, the bad manners, the snatching off shelves and the endless flippin carols played on loop.
I am staying away until it's actually December, today was ludicrous.
Oh and The Moor christmas tree lights... argh, how did that become something to warrant a crowd, it was pathetic.
I love Christmas but today....*sigh*
