dead mans hole lane , at tinsley does anyone know why this is so called?

I don't know why it's called that but when I first saw it on a map as a kid I thought it was just about the worst name you could have for a street.
Also, the location 's a bit depressing to say the least.
If I had to guess,well,where they hung Spencer Broughton's body in the gibbet is not too far from there. Maybe that area was used for executions or associated with [long] dead bodies ?
Or...maybe they just found somebody dead there in suspicious circumstances,years ago.
Whatever----surely there's an interesting story behind it ?

I don't care if you was a peasant thief - If that poor bloke knew his only landmark on todays society is that of the people who go in the Noose & Gibbet on a Saturday evening he would turn in his grave. Nobody deserves to be commemorated with such a tragedy!
