Im using xp home edition and for the past two weeks every time I try to access certain web pages through Internet Explorer an error box will appear saying that an EXPLORER HAS AN ERROR AND MUST SHUT DOWN its very frustrating to say the least.
Can anyone help me to fix the problem, but I must add Im not very technically minded with P.Cs so if anyone can help, make it simple.
Sounds like you might need to reinstall Windows... Or at the very least re-install the browser.
Unfortunately though I think IE is integrated into XP so in order to re-install teh browser, you'd need to re-install Windows.

I had the same problem this worked for me
1 tools on drop down menu
2 internet options
3 general options delete cookies delete files
4 programs tab reset web settings
5 advanced tab restore defaults.
This cured it for me worth a try.
Would agree with Bikertec here, and also suggest you run some spy-ware detection software like Adaware.
I had this on a PC recently and it was caused by a spyware cookie.
Also, are you up to date with IE service packs?

Just to reiterate what's already been noted..
Try all the usual approaches.
Run Anti Virus scan (make sure you're up to date)
Run Awaware and Spyboy - search & destroy scans
Get any windows updates that are required
If you get any "interesting" results from the above.. come back and report and we'll do what we can to help...
There's no reason to do a "reinstall" of WinXP though... but you may need to consider a system recovery if something turns out to be broke.
