Is anyone going to see it?

Have you seen it and did you like it?

Which is the best of the three?

No, I don't like all this Gratuitus violence, it is not entertainment to me. Would rather watch something entertaining and informative.

I went to see it last night and it was dire. The majority of the film was just rehashing the first and second ones. Good robot versus better equipped bad robot. The sense of anti-climax at the end was palpable. I had the sense the whole audience was disappointed, certainly from the comments overheard on the way out and on the bus later.

From the title we were expecting some dramatic robot war scenes but what we got was the usual madcap driving scenes, cop shooting scenes and unfunny one liners.

Based on this pile of c*** I just hope Arnie goes into politics and leaves the movie industry.

Do not go and see this film.

If it is on a CD-R then I think you have spoiled the filming pleasure of not waiting for it on DVD. I watched Spiderman on CD-R at my friends and walked out after 10 mins. simply because this quality was that BAD. Well, it was good, but no match to DVD.

Ask me no question and I'll tell you know lies. But my viewing leisure wasn't spoiled! Nor was it CDR!

i thought the first 30mins or so were hillarious - a total [edited] of the 1st two!
then the rest was pretty average - of course not the same impact as the previous ones because its basically the same story repeated.
bearing that in mind and not expecting too much its still enjoyable.
left it clear than there would be a 4th...

The first Terminator was 'average'? How can you say that? just because the graphics aren't as good as today's standards, doesn;t make a movie average. The original stroy behind the first Terminator was amazing. I enjoy part one 'more' than any of the others.

More suspense, more atmosphere!

Although I enjoyed part 2 and 3, I feel they have swayed (in bits) from the original. What happened to the time machine couldn;t send anything 'dead' or metal type objects? hence the original Terminator has living human tissue rount it. In part two and 3 the terminator may look like it has human skin (like a cyborg) but the way it gets shot and then morphs back (including it's so called clothes) it cannot be skin, hence it shouldn't have even been able to go back in time.

This spoils it slightly for me.

Yes, Terminator 1 was the best for me.

Yep saw the third installment tonight, enjoyed it a lot. Its very different from the first two and doesn't particularly take itself seriously. There are some classic one liners again :-

talk to the hand
desire is irrelevant i am a machine

Also look out for some lines from previous arnie movies......

thats all i'm saying 8)

I saw T3 the other day and have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I barely remember T1 and T2, maybe I should've recapped beforehand, but it didn't matter. I was gripped throughout. I think a lot of the bad press that it gets and will get by critics and wannabe critics is due to the way that its 'fashionable' to not like sequels.

I heard on the news today that Arnie is going to take up a political career and quit acting - so.....where does that leave T4? His character does indicate that it'll be back. If Mr S doesn't want to play it, then that should pose a challenge to the script writers. I reckon T4 will be very machine orientated....

yeah, i heard that ages ago, but he says that he will still do another 1 if the fans want it.:D

I am not sure he is silky and slippery enough to be a politician. Unless someone else does the talking for him. I have heard Jerry Springer was going to run for office too!

Saw it the other night and enjoyed it, despite the fact that it seemed to be missing the middle bit! Still the downbeat ending was cool.

i saw this last night, not the worse film i've ever seen by a long way,but out of the 3 terminator films its the poorest, still enjoyable though, but a 12A rating, surely if your going to be making a film about 2 futuristic mass murdering robots you should really be aimimg for a 18!!! :)

That is a good point. Looks like they may have been catering for the masses like with alot of films these days.

i agree, its not very often these days that you get a high profile,or in fact any film been given a 18 cert, maybe its just that attitudes are changing,or maybe directors just feel contracted to make the film a huge hit,i think T3 cost around the 100 million mark,so i can imagine they toned things down a bit to get the punters in.

I haven't seen terminator 3 yet, but I am planning to soon.

I found 1 more enjoyable than 2 because of the killing factor in the police station scene. It not that it I got something against police, it is something that would never happen. I mean, no one is going to go in, take out an armed station and come out and it that gives it a wow factor and that what made the film its success.

It reminds me of the film Leon, taking on authority and somewhat succeeded despite dying in the end - another reason of it being a successful film.

The success of T2 was down to computer effects and it pulls it off despite lack of killing here.

I saw it at the weekend and I was disappointed :( . It's nowhere near as good as the first two (IMO). Didn't think the guy who played John Connor was a very good actor either. And I found the ending an anti-climax... They've just set it up for T4.

Can't say I'm particularly fussed about this one to be honest. I'm rapidly becoming bored of mainstream Hollywood 'block busters', which place CGI and special effects way above plot and characters, simply to draw in the crowds.

I can't say I've been impressed with many 'block busters' over the past couple of years (LOTR being pretty much the only exception for me) - the new Star Wars films are dire, Matrix Reloaded was equally abysmal (I almost fell asleep during the car chase - could they have drawn it out any further?! What interminable pap) - I'm not saying this merely to be contentious, I genuinely didn't enjoy them and found them to be pretty damn weak. Admittedly, there's plenty for the Attention Deficit Disorder action junkies (apologies for the sweeping generalisation), but personally, I prefer a little more substance in a film.

There have been some great low budget (or at least, lower budget), and foreign films recently though (for example, Donnie Darko), which haven't been tainted too much by Hollywood Executives' avarice ("Plot? Don't be silly, we don't need a plot, we have computers now").

Yeah, I don't think very many films from the last five years will be remembered and regarded as 'classics' like Star Wars, ET and Jaws.

Sadly, cinema these days is just designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator, so if they fill two hours with fast cars, extreme crashes and explosions and some bird with plenty of clevage and flesh, it brings in the bucks.

There is talk of a T4 now!!!!

I thought the audio track blew chunks on T3,it was over modulated, sounded awefull!!!!

Parts 1 & 2 kicked ass though :) (Dont know what part 4 will be like,i heard Arnold wont have a big part in it.)

T4 will suck without Arnie.

And T3 wasn't good, not compared to T1 and 2, 2 was the second most expensive movie ever for special effects after Titanic (which James Cameron also directed) apparently.

Anyone who has seen the pilot episode for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will know that Terminator, without Arnie, is much better than T3 was!

The full series (set after events of T2, and kind of pretending that T3 didn't exist) starts in the US in January. It looks promising.

Sounds like it could be good I always wanted to find out what happened to her in the end in a lot of ways the Terminator films seemed to be more about her than her son. I didnt like T3 much either.
