On monday the 9th of this month my partner and I came home from work at 11pm to find her motorbike, rather than standing at the side of the road, lying in a heap against a wall on the on the other side of the pavement.

Taking to the neighbours, they had heard a large bang at around 10pm and assumed that it was kids messing around but it is obvious that it was hit by a vehicle.

However had hit the bike had done it with enough force to throw it across the pavement so must know that they had done it and must have damaged their vehicle. They didn't report it or leave any kind of note.

We are now left with a badly broken bike which the insurance doesn't cover.

This happened at the Cherry Tree Stores end of Osborne Road in Brincliffe.

Does anyone know anything that may help?

I'm sure this kind of thing happens all the time. It happened to me a decade ago on ecclesall road outside the design studio. But fortunately was only a 12 year old 250cc and I bent the bent bits back and carried on. Although If it were a faired bike would have been expensive. I'm afraid defensive parking is as imprtant as defensive riding these days :x

The problem is that the only real defensive parking is on an off road which is away from the public so increases the risk of theft.

You can't win at times!
