It wasn't even too bad when it was closed... bit slippy just at the top.

Yeah, it was open yesterday, but was almost entirely blocked by (&%*&$*^%()(^%* sight seeing &^%$^"^()*%*&". AAAAAGGGGHHH! How dangerous????

Round every blind bend, some git had stopped (not parked) a car to take pickies of the snowy trees. I hope there was a ruddy great big lorry somewhere behind us.

Barstools.

And how did I know that white Astra infront of us doing 30mph all the way over to Glossop, was going to turn round and go back as soon as we arrived?????

Rant over.

Anyone been on the Snake today? Traffic news says it reopened at 11.30am today but i'm not sure what sort of state it's in. Don't really want to go at 10mph all the way. Travelling over to Cheshire to see family and the other alternative is up to the M62 which is a long way round, plus the top of the M62 is often not great as well.

My alternative to get "over" is normally the A6/A623 via Winnats/Bradwell depending on conditions...

For example Winnats Pass is closed right now according to the Derbyshire BBC travel page. Seeing as it was -7.5 around there at 5pm yesterday I'm not surprised!

Yeah, I often go that way too, or through Buxton and Congleton, but not sure any of them are options today!
