I thought it was only a matter of time before this classic was pulled out of the bag for a remake.
I'm not that big a horror fan but this is one that have always appreciated.
Lets hope they don't screw it up too much.

From the BBC page...
""The Evil Dead is such a special film to Sam, Rob, Bruce and horror fans, that we are going to take great care in renewing this franchise. By keeping the original formula intact and given audiences' appetite for horror, we expect we'll have a real hit on our hands." Franchise, formula, hit. Yes folks, it's all about the dosh. Shame on you Mr Raimi! "
Shame indeed.
evil dead was awful.... evil dead 2 was pretty much a remake of evil dead and was much better. evil dead 3 was very clever and funny.
i class evil dead 2 as a remake....so why the hell do it again? it was very scarey and well done. the bit when the deer head laughs on the wall freaked me out!!
80's horror WAS horror (although bit tacky) now we dont have horror...we have `turn up the music to make people jump'
grudge luks like it may be good horror but aint seen it yet. (also a remake)
i cant wait for a remake of a remake of a remake! :)
