Not just for food but just when you fancy having a good nosey around. waxonwaxoff 18-05-2007, 09:18 Netto because it rocks. Primark for clothes. I would be a moron to spend more money on clothes. Me and the kids are always head to foot in mud. kittenta 18-05-2007, 09:20 Netto because it rocks. All the stuff that catches your eye and makes you forget you only came in for margerine. kittenta 18-05-2007, 09:25 It is a twinkly section. All the stuff that catches your eye and makes you forget you only came in for margerine. So long as you aren't a magpie you should be fine :P nick2 18-05-2007, 09:30 I would prefer town IF there were as many decent shops as there are at Meadowhall, but as there arn't I go to Meadowhall. chimaera 18-05-2007, 09:47 Interweb - I only ever go into town or meadowhall when I need something speicif and for whatever reason either can't or don't want to wait. As a general rule I'll end up going to Meadowhall since its only a couple of minutes drive from work so can nip out there at lunchtime. S6 D.I.Y 18-05-2007, 10:16 never go to meadowhell most shops chatge more than any where else due to high rates and sevice charges they have to pay.check out some of the shops for cloths ext and i bet you go to town same cloths cheaper price maybe only £1-2 pond but why should you pay more to shop in meddowhell waxonwaxoff 18-05-2007, 10:25 never go to meadowhell most shops chatge more than any where else due to high rates and sevice charges they have to pay.check out some of the shops for cloths ext and i bet you go to town same cloths cheaper price maybe only £1-2 pond but why should you pay more to shop in meddowhell I know that poundland in meadowhall is a rip off compared to the one in town. :D Whatif wewin 18-05-2007, 11:15 Netto for the food basics. Morrisons for fresh fish vegetables. Tesco so the kids can use the self- serve payment method, I still get to pay though. Meadowhall for clobber, and music CDs and eating out whole shopping usually wih the kids. B&Q or Wickes for DIY or garden stuff. When my daughters home from Uni we have to trawl the record shops up Walkley way. CorkerSWFC 18-05-2007, 11:24 Town cause i can walk there, i wouldn't pay the bus fares to get to Meadowhall even though its spot on. billyhill 18-05-2007, 11:26 Any shop other than the one my wife is in. She can spend hours looking at things at which point I give up the will to live and become a semi comatose vegetable saying things like " Yes love" "It really suits you" "No its not too young for you""Yes it will look nice next to the sideboard / cupboard/ window sill etc etc etc I trust to God that I am saying the right response to the right question but have been known to pose the wrong answer to the question asked with painful results!! nick2 18-05-2007, 11:30 Morrisons for fresh fish vegetables. When did they start selling fresh fruit and veg ? Rich 18-05-2007, 12:52 Poundland in Meadowhall sucks. I went in earlier, just for 1 Mars Bar and the cheeky mare on the checkout wanted to charge me a quid for it cos they were on offer 4 for a quid, I said "I only want 1 though" and she said "I'd still have to charge you £1 for it so you might as well have 4", I'm sorry but ?! :loopy: Last time I buy chocolate from there that is a cert. waxonwaxoff 18-05-2007, 12:58 Poundland in Meadowhall sucks. I am the only one thinking that you are slightly mad or have i missed the joke? waxonwaxoff 18-05-2007, 13:00 When did they start selling fresh fruit and veg ? Hmmm yes i had some apples from there the other day and the taste only very slightly resembled an apple. :loopy: Ms Macbeth 18-05-2007, 13:08 Town - for M & S & John Lewis Hillsborough - like the convenience, but it needs smartening up Meadowhall occasionally - like the shops, loathe the environment *Banjo* 18-05-2007, 13:29 Online for everything! I have always hated shopping so t'internet is perfect for me  Rich 18-05-2007, 13:33 Online for everything! I can't be sure of the exact date, but to give you a ballpark, yonks ago. nick2 18-05-2007, 15:11 Poundland in Meadowhall sucks. Oh right 'cause last time I went everything was just on the brink of going off, infact some of it had. Jonny5 18-05-2007, 15:25 Tinter-web for non-consumables (ie electronic stuff, dvd's, music). Prefer (Woodseats) local butcher, baker, fish monger, grocer for consumables, but mostly end up at Morrison/Tesco/Sainsbury due to working Mon-Fri. kittenta 18-05-2007, 15:34 Poundland in Meadowhall sucks. But if you had bought four you wouldn't have had to buy another one for 3 days saving you some dosh :D Or you could have bought four and given me three Whatif wewin 18-05-2007, 17:24 Oh right 'cause last time I went everything was just on the brink of going off, infact some of it had. Are we in tune here? Morrisions as far as I am aware have made their reputation on fresh food especially fresh veg. Now Netto is a bit different, they are not too bad now, but when they first started trading in the UK their veg was very poor. simone1975 18-05-2007, 17:45 Town, cos I work there. Was shopping in Debenhams last night for 2 and a half hours for holiday stuff and ended up buying yet another black top! |
