hi ,i have just burned my first music cd with no probs,but on loading my second disk,i left the paper on the under side of the disk by accident,not a good thing to do on a new pc,
now when i load a disk, pc says no disk,and it makes a swishing noise for the first few seconds,yet the paper came out in tact , so im at a loss do you know what i'v done, and will it be exspensive to fix.

I suppose you could have damaged the lens on the laser in which case it would need a new drive

it may be that not all the paper came out and some is blocking the lens

really someone needs to have a look at it first

worst case a new DVDRW should cost around £15 and you could probably find someone to fit it for about the same

and if it's a CDRW then it should be even cheaper

sounds like laser damage, what does it say on the front of the drive?
have you tried playing dvd's and cd's in it?
