I used to think the little one was funny, Bobby Ball.. Forgive me I was only about 7 in those days

Then again, I'm 31 now and reckon Basil Brush is PMSL hilarious! Ha ha ha! Boom Boom!

Im not a big fan. I would rather have the stand up comedians like Les Dawson.

I laughed at them a few weeks ago when I saw them doing double glazing adverts.

Not because they were being funny (I don't think they ever were), just because of what they have been reduced to.

Cannon and Ball sounds like the name of a dodgy pub to me... maybe that's what they are doing these days :D

"You little liar Tommy!" solid gold comedy.

I always thought it was amazing that two people with those surnames met each other in the first place. I mean, what are the odds of that?

It just wouldn't have sounded the same if it was Cannon & Smith or something similar.

When I was a little kid, circa 1990. Me, my mum and my dad went to see them in Blackpool on the north pier.

We were on the front row, and my dad was petrified about being called up onto the stage. He had a close shave when Bobby said they needed a woman volunteer; my dad still had quite long hair at this stage and was asked up, and then Bobby immediately said, "Oh sorry, sir..."

I think that made me laugh. Probably. I was six...

They made me laugh the last time I saw them.

Cannon said to Ball,

" Hey why did the chicken cross the road ? "

Ball replied, " I don't know. Why DID the chicken cross the road ? "

Cannon said.............wait for it.......

" To get to the other side " !!

I thought this was hilarious and tears rolled down my cheeks and I had to cling to a chair to prevent falling to the floor in hysterics. My other favourites are the wonderful Krankies and that ever-topical Ben Elton with his screamingly funny anti-American jokes. Ho Ho Ho Ha Ha Ha .

Cheese and Onion - now that was an act. Never quite as big as Tommy and Bobby but did make Opportunity Knocks or soemthing similar.
