View Full Version : Football fans ...rant...
hi....
AS the footaball season has finished now,i am sure everyone has got something to complain about a big `soz` to `THE DADDY` he started a post about a manager and it kind of got taken over by people complaining in general so thought this post would help other people have there say about wrong-doings in football ..so lets here it.................
Smithster 16-05-2007, 19:17 The stupid new Sky TV deal!!!!!!!
Whoever finishes bottom of the prem next season is going to go back to the CCC £50m richer. A £50m reward for failure! So whoever it is will go down, and then just buy their way back up again. It will create an even bigger gulf between the prem and the rest of the league than there is already. the whole thing stinks. How will any small teams ever hope to possibly push their way up again without being bought my a billionaire sugar-daddy? It makes my blood boil just thinking about it!
Rant over!
What is going to happen to our National team in the future.
When the under 21s played the other month the top 5 teams in the premiership were not represented by a single player it doesn't look good.
Going to end up a third rate football nation like Scotland.

'scuse me but Scotland national side are now 14th in the World Ratings which is not far behind Englands 8th place!
I see your point though, for a country that has a population of over 50M, England should have an abundance of youth players. Espanyol had 10 Spanish players starting for them last night. Germany,Italy and France also have a better ratio of home players in their Prem sides.
Maybe England prem sides are more bothered about money than producing good footballers for their country.
Ha Ha sorry mate.
What I mean is we are heading the same way our three/four biggest teams especielly the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have fielded teams which only contained 1 or 2 English players in fact on a couple of occasions this season Arsenal had no English players on the pitch and only Hoyte on the bench.
I am struggling to think of any current Scottish players currently playing in the Premiership in England ( I am no expert on Scottish footie) and now that the traditional 2 horse race in Scotland has become a 1 horse canter where are you heading now it doesn't look good.
Looks like we are all heading down the pan.
Bring back the HOME INTERNATIONALS
scottishdude 17-05-2007, 08:15 Chelsea aren't too bad with Terry, Lampard, A. Cole, J.Cole, Bridge,SW Philips all with England caps and players like Scott Sinclair and Glen Johnson waiting in the wings.

Well with all due respect mate, a business man who owns a club wants to see a return on the money he has outlayed which come's with being successfull on the pitch. I don't think they are too bothered that their team hasn't produced an England international! It may not be right but money and success is the footballing business these days not how successful they can make the England national team!

Im still of the opinion that it starts at school. Sport isn't encouraged anywhere near as much as it should be in schools, so we lose out on alot of 'would-be' talent.
Maybe im wrong
People who think football began in 1992 when Sky "cunningly" invented the premiership.
People who think if they watch soccer AM and have a sticker in their car saying "C'mon England" makes them a die hard football fan.
What did these grown men do in the 1980's? Because they were not at the football, that's for sure.
They are "football fans" because Rupert Murdoch told them it was fashionable.
That's my rant over. Well....I'm just getting warmed up, I suspect more will follow.

He sounds like a jobsworth caretaker from some crappy community centre on the outskirts of Luton. It's bad enough that the Champions League coverage is done by ITV but having this personality void droning the bleeding obvious makes it unwatchable for me and now he has got a job with Radio 5 Live and writes for The Guardian.
Oh and Jimmy Armfield has throat cancer. That is bad.
