OMG . . .

I saw the exact same thing over Gleadless about 10 nights ago

It was quite bright, i thought it was the helicopter at first, but when i looked it just looked like a fire ball, then it disappeared

My partner saw it too

How weird . . . . . what is it?

Could it be, ' RedRobbo ' setting a trap for the first council meeting after the election for the Soc-Dems?

Syncomenstromigration - The phenomenon of the reddish glow in the northern hemispherical skies around late may believed to be the syncopation of migratory species' menstrual cycles, in particular Lapwing and Starling. This usually happens in the Northern parts of Europe around may or when the the moons latitudinal right ascension is usually above 2.539855537760237.

It is believed to be a flocking instinct, in particular by the Red Wing Starling of the Urals. Becoming earlier each year due to global warming, the menstrual matter is projected in unison by the flock from the front bottom flap of the birds ovarian entrance.

Sometimes known as the ketchup Kamikaze or the Postbox Blitz it usually occurs in the evening ,clouding the natural light of the moon producing the red glow which is the main phenomena of ]Syncomenstromigration.

If one takes a direct hit it can stain the skin as the the unfortunate President Gorbachev ofRussia (http://www.mcgeorge.edu/newsandevents/events/images/2005-10-27/Gorbachev%20102.jpg). (inset. Blaming the birds)

The Romans believed it was a sign from the Goddess Athena (the goddess of posters) that she was 'on'. And in Medieval Britain it was traditional to wear a handkerchief on your head at this time of year, hence the term 'rag week.' In more recent times Henry Lilet wrote, 'it be a blot on our landscape' leading to the coinage of the phase 'on't Blot'. The Scientists Siegfried Tamm and Joseph Pon first speculated the phenomena in the 'Ornithologist bible' 'Raindrops are starlings where they've bled' and even in the roaring twenties it started a dance craze known as the 'Jam Rag Time Swing.'

What ever causes this strange syncopation of the menstrual cycles of our migratory species is unclear but what is clear is the beautiful reddish hues of our skies and our wildlife in full flow. Minipedia

Was just about to say same? Really dark red glow on clouds over Sheffield? Even though sun set long gone. Tonight 15/07/2011. Looking around though seems to be reflection of street lights off clouds? Is this possible.

Yeah, you often see the glow of street lights reflecting off the clouds, more so if your high up in a dark area.
