no they didnt, i corrected it :P
I didn't see the program but am aware of Scientology.
They've been pretty famous on the Internet since the mid 90s, one of the busiest newsgroups was always (and possibly still is?) alt.religion.scientology. At the time they (Scientologists) tried various methods to get the newsgroup removed, and other underhand tactics including sending lawyers after critics, threatening ISPs and censoring parts of the Internet.
There was a pretty big backlash against them which continues to this day (social news sites like digg, slashdot, etc continue to regularly rub them up the wrong way).
If you're ever bored and fancy reading through 10s of millions messages check out the newsgroup archives, you really couldn't make some of it up:

It does irritate me though, how it's considered fine to criticise or scrutinise groups like the Scientologists, but when you try and apply the same criteria to other faiths or sects of faiths, you are accused of being prejudiced or ignorant. Some are considered *out there* and some are considered beyond criticism, even when they share elements. Where is the line between cult and religion?

It's a decent cult for empty headed 'stars' who obviously have very little in their own lives.
It is not and never will be a religion. It appears to have no rules or legislation.
It's a fashion accessory for (usually) US has-beens who have too much time and too much money...and are obviously lacking in the brain department.
"Well I'm telling you Buddy, you got it, right here, right now."
One can almost sympathise with the Muslims.....,

I'm surprised the Panorama journalist didn't lose it sooner. I swear if someone was talking in my face like that without giving me a chance to speak, I wouldnt have been so patient. *phew*

It still made for great TV though, didn't it?
They should get Paxman to interview some Scientologists as a follow-up.
