all the icons on my computer keep going of how do iget them back on without re starting my computer im on windows xp

yes they disapear antivirus is up to date

could be a ram issue?
my icons mess up a bit when i start running out of memory

probably a corrupt icon cache. do a search for the file iconcache.db and rename it to something else then change your desktop colour quality (ie: from 32bit to 16bit). This will force iconcache.db to be recreated. Once it's recreated you can change the colour depth back to 32bit.
