Passed the football ground last night and on the other side of the road, where the car sales used to be, was a white Rover, precariously balanced on the wall. The front of the car was reaching over the pavement. It had quite a large bump on drivers side. Anybody see it. Don't honestly know how it ended up like that

we passed this as fire engine and police and ambulance were there we saw the rover i think it was on the pavement and there was a green 306/106 in the middle of the road at the junction with all its front end smashed in assume the two cars had crashed into each other.won't jump to conculsions about what caused this (speeding etc etc) hope all parties involved weren't too seriously injured what ever happened.

Did not see any sign of another car when I passed thats why I though it was strange

Me and my boyfriend got caught up in all this. It happened at about 8:45pm last night. We were just heading into the Cricketers, about ten paces away, and the two cars smashed into each other and came right for us (on the pavement). We had to dive out of the way to stop ourselves from getting hit. It was completely mad. No one was seriously injured, although I think most people were suffering pretty badly from shock. The ambulance took away a couple of girls with suspected broken bones and breathing difficulties but everyone was alive so that's the main thing.

Really shook us up though, don't think I've ever been a part of anything so terrifying. Everyone in Cricketers was well nice. The fire brigade cleared up the green peugeot fairly early on but the silver taxi was still there when we left a couple of hours later. The taxi appeared to have continued further down the road after the crash as it was about 75 metres away from where it all happened. Really don't know what caused it all but wish we did - I know it's a cliche, but it really did happen so quickly.

If anyone else hears anything about it or was there at the time then let us know!

I don't know how you'd manage to crash on Bramall Lane, its a straight bit of road going past the ground.

I notice there is a post set into the kerb just past where the Cricketers is, it looks primed for a speed camera to me.

i cant see the point of putting a speed camera on there, unless its for sunday use or after about 6:30 at night.

I thought that but the post that has gone up on the pavement definately looks like its one that is going to support a speed camera.

Speed cameras were meant to be for black spots and until this thread i have never heard of an accident on Bramall Lane, well not down near the Cricketers anyway. I have lived back in Sheffield 8 months now and JE James has been ploughed into 3 times in that time. Maybe its for the benefit of them?

Could it be for CCTV or something?

seen a quite few crashes on the corner of john st. but if your going straight along Bramhall lane you'd have to be lacking in attention(or taking some sort of evasive action ) to crash.
