Just been down to Wilkos, near the Castle Market, and bought two very healthy looking tree ferns (Dicksonia antarctica) for only £16.99 each. They aren't 'tree' sized, the trunks being a foot or so high, but lovely plants. Knowing the way plants dessicate and die in the dry air of the store, I'd suggest getting down there if you're interested in one, whilst they're healthy.

There's some just as you go in, some more by the gazebos and seating, halfway down, and some right down the far end.

Bargain! :hihi:

My gardening books say you can grow them in large pots as long as you keep them moist and out of bright sun.

If anyone buys one, this site has good advice on looking after them...
