Hi People,
I want to buy some more RAM for my computer as I only have 512Mb. Is there a way to find out what make and model RAM I already have without opening her up?

Head over to Crucial (http://www.crucial.com/uk) and run their online scan; it will tell you what RAM you have, how much space you have for more and the maximum your system will take. Their prices are generally very good and the service is fantastic. I ordered some RAM from them last September for my desktop; I ordered it at about 1430 on a Wednesday afternoon and it was here for about 0900 the next morning- excellent stuff and highly recommended.

Thanks, thats brilliant. Im getting my memory from ebuyer because I have never had a problem with them and they seem to be good with prices
Watch the Ebuyer own brand memory . It can be very hit and miss !!!

seconded.
and i agree with the comments about getting branded RAM - it is usually a lot better. Get Kingston, Crucial, OCZ, Corsair, etc...
