We seem to have lost ITV and some of the other digital ITV stations over the last week or so.

that happens a lot to us,one day we will have a great signal on all the channels and then the next day we dont get half of them.
really annoying if theres something on that you want to watch...:mad:

the ITV signal died just about a week ago, try retuning your box ;)

I know at least 3 people this has happened to in the last week all in Hillsbrough area and a retune has fixed all of them

well i'm in chesterfield and it happened.. it was the signal being switched to a different frequency at the transmitter so it affected everyone on freeview who used that signal

I bought a new freeview box yesterday, and on set up noticed the transmitters on a lot of the channels had changed compared to old one I replaced.

i had the same problem, so i re-tuned the tv again, the channels have appeared again

I think this is down to the commencement of ITV2 plus 1. I couldn't get ITV 3, UK TV Bright Ideas, or FTN. Had to retune the box, and all was well. I am in North Sheffield.

Just switch off your box at the mains.Then re-scan.You should get your missing channels back.

I retuned a few peoples machines this week. Must be widespread I suppose.

What I find more annoying though. I'm in a digi area (supposedly), but keep getting 'NO SIGNAL', strangely enough, mainly in the day and evening, and rarely at all at night.

It picks its moments well, though. It works fine during the adverts, then if I'm watching something for 2 hours then a character says..."yes, after much thought, we believe the murderer is ." "NO SIGNAL" for 3 seconds, then the end credits!:help: :mad: :hihi:

It has been happenning to me with the ITV channels for a couple of years.

Hardly a week seems to go by without having to retune.

yeah this as happened to my elderly neighbour he lost itv 3 last week and hasnt a clue what to do about it,and neither did i,so now i can go and tell him to retune it,thanx

I retuned the other day to get ITV back, it took me over a week to notice it was missing ^_^

However, you can't get it on "3" anymore, it's on 800 :S

im the same iv lost all my itv channels and im in netherthorpe im just switching to me normal tele for anything i wanna watch on itv which is hardley nowt

I'm in Hillsborough, across from Regent Court and am told its a dodgy area for TV reception, some of my Freeview channels have better singal than others, Channel Five is pretty unwatchable

I'm near Hillsborough and I don't even get all of the channels.. in fact not even half of them! I dont think its got anything to do with it needin to be re-tuned though.. think its jus my area signal :|

My mother lives in Shirecliffe and the postcode Freeview text service says she can't get it yet.

Actually, thinking about your original question, it might be the weather. Where I live we get an excellent signal on all Freeview channels, but when it was hot last week, the signal dropped considerably and in some cases went altogether. It's ok again now.

mine resets every morning about 3Am and usually looses a channel or two some times a retune helps others you may need to go into your menu and reset as a FIRST TIME INSTALLATION always works on mine (but still a pain in the but) down load is for viewer numbers I think hope this helps:roll:

We used to get ITV channels but not BBC, now we seem to get nearly all of the BBC and no ITV

Actually, they can't really do anything until the switch off. At the moment the digital channels are only being broadcast on about half their power otherwise they would interfere with the existing terrestrial signals. Once the analog signals have been switched off, the digital signals will be dialed up in power and it'll mean that the signal strength for freeview practically doubles.

It's just because the two signals would otherwise interfere with them.

I'll let you know whether or not that theory works in October. My dad keeps his yacht at Whitehaven and at the moment the digital signal is pretty crap... once they turn it off in theory it should be pretty good!

I've noticed some channels (notably the music channels and FTN) I can only usually only get at a certain time of day. Wouldn't mind UK Gold but I think you have to pay extra for that and my box doesn't have a card slot

i had a freeview box and i will tell you wot i will never get one again they are rubbish everytime i move infontof the box the picture froze and half the channels never worked and wen i was watching something it just started sticking and squares would come up on the screen they are not worth the hastle or money

We just bought a new TV and were gutted when half the channels were missing but after ''auto tuning'', they were all back.... they recommend doing this for any new updates etc. However I'm finding that most days there's some channel missing!

for some reason itv and channel 4 signals round this area are rubbish i just hope they improve this before they switch the analogue signal off in 2011

Mine's on a indoor aerial in mybedroom now so I don't expect miracles, the signal varies on the lesser (music, ftn) channels but the BBC, ITV, etc are still strong. Sky Sports News is erratic though; can come on for 5 minutes and then just go to a blank screen. At the moment my PC is at the side of it so I think me being sat there causes the signal to break up quite a lot.
