View Full Version : Swimming lessons required
Hi all just to ask if anyone knows of any baths that do swimming lessons.
I can swim but after a very scary moment a few years ago i need to get my confidence back, so really i suppose what i actually is a confidence boosting sessions. When away i will go in pool but it has to be practically empty which is not very often, and i havent actually been to a swimming baths for years .
Thanks for your time
roobarbpie 10-05-2007, 09:00 Whereabouts are you? Upperthorpe Healthy Living Centre do lessons for adults if that's any help.
:) King Edwards do swimming lessons for adults and classes for people who can swim but want to improve or learn a new stoke etc. Very good.
KATIEB_23 10-05-2007, 10:28 Good luck thai - I would be interested in seeing how you get on & if you find anywhere appropriate - I can't swim either (only a bit of doggy paddle )
People think its ludicrous when I tell them! Its nice to know I'm not the only one ;)

Sounds promising....all I need now is to know how to get there ;)
Have you got an address?
Its at the back of Tesco on infirmary rd. The old upperthorpe libarary.
That's just up the road!
Might have to try and find...next week you say?
If I make it...I'm a fairly large fellow with tattoo @ top right arm...say hello if you see me there!
ok no problem ,its actually every thursday but i cannot make tonight . Im 5ft and maybe 7stone soaking wet, so may see you there.
roobarbpie 11-05-2007, 09:21 Good luck. The teacher Billy is an absolute star. He teaches my kids - and believe me, they've put him through hell!!! He has limitless patience and humour if things go wrong. Can't praise him enough.

Thai - still going tonight?
they adult swim lessons 5.20pm~6pm at a cost of £4.20.
Website says 4-6 for the adult lessons...not going to be able to get there for 4 certainly, would be a rush to make it for 5.20!
Any idea if it matters? Not sure I want to turn up half way through a lesson.
Maybe the sat session 3-6 would be better for me.
Can't possible have a 3 hour lesson? Guess being there part way through might not matter so much after all.
I was told 5.20.till 6 i will phone and check back in a tick
o well there i was all geared up and its cancelled. Good job i called to check times again after Dafoots post, but stiil the times i posted are the right ones .
