I Work at British Glass at the top of Chapeltown and can see right across Sheffield and the north surrounding it. I took a few piccies the other day on my phone, will get them on pc tonight and find a way of getting them on net for you all to have a look at. Thought I was going mad for a sec. cosywolf 15-11-2004, 15:24 It's a gorgeous deep purple here in Norfolk Park. Yodameister 15-11-2004, 15:25 It did look like the sort of thing you see when snow is around at sunset. I'm not sure its going to actually snow though. There were some really good sunsets last week as well. Autumn is my favourite time of the year for this reason. wibbles 15-11-2004, 15:25 It looked very armageddonesque...clouds rollings in, orange glow all around...very impressive looking. It's like God's dicking about with photoshop and altering the hue of the universe. Jim 15-11-2004, 15:26 It's definitely the effects of the sun on clouds at medium level height. scottf 15-11-2004, 15:26 I have just started walking round work singing "its the end of the world" by R.E.M :D cruella 15-11-2004, 15:27 Originally posted by wibbles It looked very armageddonesque...clouds rollings in, orange glow all around...very impressive looking. Went into a shop for a few minutes, and when I came out there was this beautiful, strange, orange glow, as described. Lovely, but very eerie. Seemed to come out of nowhere. It's all gone dark now! scottf 15-11-2004, 15:43 Originally posted by wibbles Give me a Sheffield sunset anyday  please tell me your joking- ibizan sunsets are the best in the world not matter HOW much you love sheffield they **** all over anything that we can produce!! Whats so special about Ibiza, surely you see the sun set out at see, so it would look that way from anywhere in that general area ? Yodameister 15-11-2004, 15:46 I love sunrises. I don't suppose all that many of you see them?! There are very few days when the sunrise does not offer you something nice to look at. nick2 15-11-2004, 15:49 I prefer sunsets, when you're coming back into town on the tram and get to the bridge over the parkway, if there is a sunset at that time it looks great 'cause you have agood view of the city too. NatalieSheff 15-11-2004, 15:49 i think with ibiza its the whole atmosphere, and they are very very beautiful abroad, here they mostly look smoggy scottf 15-11-2004, 15:49 Originally posted by NatalieSheff cafe del mar? or savana? Del mar anytime- i know its sterio typical but its still the best place!! It was fairly rare too as they don't realy have clouds. NatalieSheff 15-11-2004, 15:53 storms are always good to watch, my gramps lives bottom of mountain overlooking sea, you can see em coming in for miles its ace theimposter 15-11-2004, 16:41 Even in deepest Chesterfield they had the weird glow.....tho it was a more pinky Sam Miguel 15-11-2004, 16:53 I'm afraid that was the sun finally burning itself out, it will now be be dark forever - or possibly even longer. H.P 15-11-2004, 17:11 My eldest was quite excited about the orange glow.. And I must admit it did look quite like there were snow clouds gathering. My dear old grandma allways said you could smell the snow in the air, and she was allways right at predicting a storm she would heap more coal on the aga .. hope it snows it covers up all the crappy stuff and everything looks nice :) and I can pelt the kids with snowballs HA! Phanerothyme 15-11-2004, 17:28 Originally posted by NatalieSheff how can you tell if it looks like snow?? Sickly yellow skies in the afternoon, a strange eerie light does often indicate snow. Don't know why, but I would sure be interested to find out. gether 15-11-2004, 17:53 i got yesterdays sky using the camera on my nokia, merged 4 photos together with photoshop to make this: http://gether.org.uk/viewoversheffieldmergedsmall.jpg again the colours are very nice, looks like early morning or something but its actually afternoon. I saw todays orange hue today too from nether edge, it was very strange, looked tea-stained. definately looked like a photoshop filter. reminded me of that last solar eclipse mer1002 15-11-2004, 20:08 I work in town and it went from pink to purple when more clouds appeared over head.. it looked lke the final scene of ghostbusters !!! cool :) disc0tech 15-11-2004, 21:54 Originally posted by NatalieSheff i think with ibiza its the whole atmosphere, and they are very very beautiful abroad, here they mostly look smoggy Nah, you want to go to Es Vedra, about 30 minutes drive south of San Antonio.
