Hello all,
just wanted to tell everyone on here how proud I am of my 16 year old daughter. She has one of the 'computerised babies' from school which cries for attention every so often. She has had it since Friday afternoon and it has let her have very little sleep so far!:hihi: (It was up 7 times last night!) :hihi: My daughter is absoulotley shattered but is still going strong! It doesn't need as much attention as a real baby but I think this is a really good way of showing young girls just what it could be like! Luckily my daughter already realises that children are a long way in the future but this 'baby' has really reinforced this for her!

sorry, i read this earlier and meant to comment. i thought those dolls were made up! fantastic idea though, although i suspect that the type of girl who commits to looking after the doll for the weekend isn't the type of girl that goes out and gets pregnant. gross generalisation, probably, but anyway.
good for your daughter! maybe if i'd had one of those at the age of 27 i wouldn't have babybabychickens, though...:hihi:
The 'baby' is so cute it has been a real struggle not to take over but I have tried hard to be indifferent! (Broody gene kicking in I think! ) If anyone else gets the chance for their teenager to have this experience then I totally recommend it as it has also got us talking about other aspects of child care, relationships etc. All in all a great way to open up adult communication between parent and teenager

Seven times in one night? Thats worse than the real thing!
Its a brilliant idea though isnt it.
I'd love to see some written feedback form some other teens about these experiences and I wish the government could, through schools, ensure that every teenagers has at least 2 nights of caring for one of those dolls.
Don't some of them do feedback for if they've been handled carefully and attended to quickly? That would make interesting reading too.
I watched a tv programme with some celebs who had those dolls for a while, Caprice was one of them and totally made a mess of it. The doll was damaged at the end!
