View Full Version : Sheffield's Euro zone
Has anybody tried spending euros around Devonshire Green? There's a consortium of shops around there who will accept euros and I'd be interested in anybody's experience of using them, exchange rate, ease, etc.
I've come back off hols with some euros, not enough to justify being skinned by the banks, too many to leave hanging around in a drawer.
I've got a few spare €'s - which shops are taking them?
dont bother they only give 50p for 1 euro

If they hadn't done a search they would have been complaining that they had started an unnecessary new thread.

How is it topical? I don't think the Euro-zone idea got off the ground but I will stand corrected if someone knows better.
Exchange was probably about 1.50 when the thread started.
nothing to do with the euro just that the price as gone down to the lowest ever thats what I meant by topical, going back up now though
It's because the international money people knew I was on holiday so it was lowest ever whilst I was away and then went back up again when I got back.
I agree with ricky here , the euro is on a lot of peoples mind at the moment and any improvement on the exchange rate is welcome . keep posting the rates ricky , some of us appreciale it.

I was wondering if it was still up and running. If it isn't it's a bit of a shame really, I'd like to think that we had something that sets us apart from everywhere else.. apart from Europe of course ;)

will do, third day on trot the euro as gone up
So is the £ on the slide, or is the € on the rise?
personally I aint bothered as long as I can get back approx £400 it is going to cost me if the euro does not go back to over 1.32
